There have been so many changes to my life and I decided to document them. Unfortunately, my memory doesn’t allow me to go back and remember everything, so I’ll start on December 1, 2021 I moved from Southern California and the city life to VA to start a micro-farm with my eldest son and his family. I have no idea how to start or run a farm. I’ve never raised a farm animal and I’ve only had a couple semi-successful small gardens while living in SoCal.
Being the person that I am, I don’t like schedules, so the thought of working with animals and nature is somewhat terrifying because I’m setting myself up for a strict routine. I’m filled with both excitement and dread. I don’t want this to fail.
I’ve decided to start with a small winter garden and as time moves on, we’ll add things so that we don’t jump in too quickly and get overwhelmed.
I moved to VA on Dec 1st but just moved into my house today. It’s a 12’x24′ wood structure with just the frame and walls. My son ran the electrical and insulated the walls and part of the ceiling, but we still have to drywall it. That will happen a little at a time. Fortunately, the weather is cool, but not too cold yet.
My Youtube channel is still growing (thankfully) and I’ll be making more videos when I get my studio set up. I fear it won’t be as soon as I’d like since my house is still bare-bones and I don’t have furniture or a car. I’ll have to take this one step at a time.
